Morié at Capitol Hill News... Closing out

We are pleased to announce that all residences in the Morie at Capitol Hill project have either sold or gone under contract. This has been a great project and we are happy to be involved in the development of the Old Town of Fort Collins providing new opportunities for living in downtown.

Morié at Capitol Hill News... 615B is now open as the new model!

The second model house at 615B Wood Street is now open! The interior design of this residence features a darker, cooler design palette with rich, medium-toned bamboo floors and wood trim. Built off of Wood street, both 615B & 617B offer quieter living and added privacy with rear-loading garages. A fenced courtyard space with outdoor fireplace (optional) and a larger backyard provide extra space to enjoy the outdoors.

Development follows the Built-Green standard and includes many high-end selections such as designer concrete counters, iridescent recycled glass tile, bamboo flooring, natural slate, and 100% natural wool carpet. The model will be open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4pm or by appointment starting from June 14th.

Morié at Capitol Hill News... First residence sold!

We are very pleased to announce that the first residence, 615A Wood Street, of the Morié at Capitol Hill was sold on May 16 and we extend a warm welcome the new owners.

Recently, residence 617A has also gone under contract leaving just two available units left in the project--615B and 617B. Residence 615B will shortly be opened as a model home later in June.

McKee Brothers and Vaught Frye Architects are awarded the 2008 Fort Collins Urban Design Award for Architecture

Fort Collins Urban Design Award 2008McKee Brothers and Vaught Frye Architects were honored on Wednesday night by the City with the prestigious Biennial Fort Collins Urban Design Award for Architecture 2008. The award was given to highlight the architectural design and accomplishment of the In-Situ facility, which was built in 2004. The In-Situ facility is located at 221 East Lincoln Avenue in Fort Collins, Colorado. View pictures of the facility.

The City of Fort Collins celebrates great places and people who design them. Join us in promoting awareness of the importance of urban design, and its role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of life in our community. These biennial awards were first given in late 2006, and the next awards are May 7, 2008.

The category for architecture is for any built building or group of buildings that contribute to and support quality urban design. It will be an individual building or group of buildings of high architectural standard, which achieves design excellence through its unique relationship with its immediate surroundings because of its site, massing, architecture, and pedestrian amenities.

Residence 615A is Built-Green and Energy Star Certified as "5-Star Plus"

Following the Built-Green certification program, residence 615A of Morié at Capitol Hill was inspected and rated by Thermal Concepts. As part of the inspection process, all doors and windows were sealed and a vacuum was created in the house to determine points of leakage, otherwise know as a "Blower door test". Based on this test and other factors, the house was rated at 224 points from the Built-Green check list (70 points are required as a minimum for certification) and at 65 points on the HERS Index (based on a 500 to 0 rating scale, where 500 is the worst rating and a 0-rating equals a Net Zero Energy Home (ZEH)).

The estimated total annual energy cost for 615A is $1,407, which includes heating, cooling, hot water, lighting/appliances, and service charges. Download the full report.

Morié at Capitol Hill News... First model house nearing completion!

We are pleased to announce that the first model house (named "Hikari") is nearing completion. The model is planned to be opened to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3pm starting from the weekend of January 26th. The interior design, based on the warmer palette design scheme, is simply gorgeous!
